SUPERVISED VISITATION TERMINOLOGY

Supervised Visitation (Monitored Visitation, Supervised Child Access) â€“interaction between Non-Custodial Parent(s) and child(ren) in the presence of a neutral third person who is responsible for observing the interaction and protecting the safety of the parents and child(ren).

Supervised Visitation Monitor (Child Access Monitor, Observer, Supervisor) - neutral third person who is responsible for observing the Non-Custodial Parent(s) and child(ren) interaction and protecting the safety of the parents and child(ren) during Supervised Exchanges and Supervised Visitations

Custodial Parent (CP is an abbreviation used to identify the Custodial Parent)- may refer to a biological parent, adoptive parent, legal guardian, state agency and its representatives who has temporary or permanent legal custody of the child(ren). Resident Parent abbreviated RP is also used to identify this parent

Non-Custodial Parent or Visiting Parent. (NCP or VP is an abbreviation used to identify this parent. may refer to a biological parent or other adult, who is authorized to have contact with child(ren). Nonresident Parent abbreviated NRPis also used to identify this parent.

Minor Child (MC is an abbreviation used to identify a Child )- a minor, age birth to majority. More than one child may be involved in Supervised Visitation.
